Eugene “Gene” Grabski, age 85 of Erie, passed away on Tuesday July 14, 2026 at Manchester Commons. He was born in Buffalo, NY on November 7, 1940, a son of the late Sigmund and Irene Sikora Grabski.
Gene graduated from Penn Hills High School in Buffalo and earned an Associate Degree from Penn State Behrend. He served 4 years on active duty and 2 years in the US Air Force Reserve. He was employed at Chevrolet in Buffalo and came to Erie in 1964 where he worked for General Electric for 36 years retiring as Shipping Supervisor.
Gene was an avid golfer, playing several times a week, and was a lifelong member of Downing Golf Course. He was also a member at the Elks Lodge where he and Fran enjoyed bocce, playing cards and Wii bowling. A lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills, Gene could be seen cheering on his team each week proudly wearing his blue and red. Gene treasured time with family and especially enjoyed being a grandfather. He was affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Papa Bean" and "Special Papa."
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard A. Grabski and his sisters-in-law Barbara Grabski and Marilyn Konieczny and her husband Joseph.
Survivors include his wife Frances H. Przybyszewski Tofel Grabski “Fran”; children Michele Skopow (David), Jennifer Grabski Roe (JB), Kelly Romeo (Ryan), Jennifer Wallen (Scott), and David Tofel Jr (Dawn); grandchildren Joshua Grabski (Amber), Jordon Grabski (Taylor), Jonathan Roe, Courtney Connors (Mitch), Caitlin Callozzo (Ryan), Gabrielle Macioce(Matt), Michaela Romeo, Jacob Romeo, Jayden Romeo, Jarod Wallen, Rebecca Wallen, Alexa Tofel and David Tofel, III; great-grandchildren Elijah Grabski, Eloise Harper Grabski, Quinn Connors, Drew Callozzo, Benny Grabski,and Ryan Macioce; his former wife Mary King and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc, 3801 W. 26th St. (at Powell Ave.) on Friday July 24th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and are invited to a memorial service there on Saturday July 25th at 11am, inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.
