Elfreda P. Karmazin

Elfreda P. Karmazin, age 91, of Erie, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at home with her granddaughter, Destiny Pursell by her side.

She was born in Erie on September 26, 1931, a daughter of the late William Nelson and Media (Weldon) Silvis Nelson.

Pat worked as the head cook at Gannon University for 25 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Karmazin, an infant Son, Stevie, two sisters Lois Balla and Betty Little and two brothers, William Nelson and John Nelson.

She is survived by a sister, Kathryn Teed of Clymer, NY; a brother, Jake Silvis of Taneyville, MO; four stepchildren; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road in Erie, on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 10:00a.m. until the time of service in the chapel there at 12 p.m. with Father Mike DeMartinis officiating.

Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
