Edward Wells

Edward S. Wells, age 80, of Fairview and Zephyrhills, FL, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013, in Zephyrhills after a lengthy illness. Born on July 9, 1932, in Franklin Center, he was the son of the late Sumner E. and Luella Hayes Wells.

Ed was a graduate of Edinboro High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Top Roc Newcrete Corp. for 36 years, 24 years as a truck driver, retiring in 1994. Ed was a member and past commander of Fairview American Legion Post 742 and a member of Albion VFW #2341 and the Fairview Fire Dept. He was also a 24 year member of AA. Ed enjoyed spending winters in Florida, camping trips, traveling, going to fairs and antique tractor shows, bowling, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a son, James E. Wells, an infant daughter, and a sister, Betty Jane Wells. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Rose Wells, a daughter, Judy R. Marzka of Girard; two sons: Robert A Wells and his wife Marie of Sacramento, CA and Dennis L. Wells of Erie; a sister, Janice Meyer and her husband Lawrence of McKean; ten grandchildren: Amanda Baldizan, Adam Baldizan, Amber Ramirez, Kristy, Miranda, Marissa, and Isaiah Wells, and Tanya, Dylan and Syerra Marzka; seven great grandchildren: Daniel, Jaime, Victor Jr., Emma, Mia, Delylah and Aiyana; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in Burton's All Faiths Chapel with Rev. Dennis Miller of Fairview United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fairview Fire Dept., P.O.
