Doris Louise Brozell

Doris Louise Brozell, age 84, of Bolivia, North Carolina and formerly of Fairview passed away on Saturday July 19, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on April 16, 1941, the only child of the late Forrest and Hattie Boyce Fitting.

Doris graduated as valedictorian from Fairview High School in 1959 and first in her class from Erie Business College in 1961. She held various business positions throughout her career. She worked at and was a licensed agent at Herbol Insurance, Inc., later HM&M for many years. Along with her husband they also built the first car wash in Fairview in 1967. In 1982 she and her husband purchased Aggie’s Pizza in Fairview, a business that provided employment for the entire family until the children finished high school and college. Following the sale of that business she became a real estate agent, working in that field, until she chose to join Burton Funeral Homes as their accountant, where she worked until retirement.

She was a long-time (67 year) member of Fairview Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and a trustee. She attended Oak Island Evangelical Presbyterian Church in North Carolina. She was a member and past matron of Girard Chapter #84 Eastern Star and a member of Albion Chapter #22 following the merger. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and for church and funeral dinners and fund raisers as well.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Brozell in 2023.

Doris is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas L. Brozell; her son Todd Brozell and his wife Anna Brozell; and her grandchildren Chloe Lynn Brozell, Chase Thomas Brozell, and Ryan Thomas McLean.

Friends are invited to call on the family at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard, on Thursday July 24th from 2-4pm & 6-8pm and to attend the funeral service at Fairview Presbyterian Church, 4264 Avonia Rd., Fairview, PA on Friday July 25th at 11am. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
