Denice A. Gamble

November 17, 1983 — April 4, 2024

Denice A. Gamble, age 40, transitioned peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Destiny in sight, Denice took the reins forged closer bonds, healed hearts, and exercised concern about others; she exemplified living lovely as she traveled the final leg of her journey “back home.”

She was born on November 17, 1983, in Erie, to the late Arthur R. and Loretta A. (Myers) Gamble Sr. Denice exuded a strength and dynamic energy that would uplift and unite those around her. Over her lifetime she poured everything she had into caring for and about others; advocating for those who needed a voice and exuding her determination, strong will, and brilliance to inspire, motivate, and help shape others through the way she lived. She was an exceptional writer who shared her creative works among those closest to her, a few of her op ed pieces can be found in the Erie Times News. She loved the beauty of the outdoors, traveling, long drives, being near the water, music, laughter and more than anything cherished the good company of family and loved ones.

After graduation from Collegiate Academy, Denice continued her education at Edinboro University and Great Lakes Institute of Technology. Denice a selfless human and brilliant academic student who earned multiple scholarships literally left college to come home to take care of family then went back to school in Erie and took courses in the medical industry to better take care of multiple generations of family, friends, and Godchildren. Her work ethic remained unmatched whether she was at the law firm downtown, serving a customer, working with the youth, or when she was caring for those she loved, her whole heart went into it.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by nephew, Arthur R. Gamble III; uncles, Elijah J. Gamble and Mack Gamble; aunts, Earnia Woodard, Maxine Gamble, Georgia Mae Gates, Mennie Pearl McLaurin and Reddie Belle Evan and grandparents, Thomas and Annie (Green) Myers and Eligah and Luvenger (Easterling) Gamble.

She leaves behind to cherish her in memory, her sister, Kimberly A. Gamble; brother, Arthur R. Gamble Jr. (Melinda); nieces, Sharmaine L. Gamble and Alisha M. Gamble; nephews, Jericoh Gamble and Jendrich; uncles, Thomas Myers Jr., Gregory Myers (Mary), Arthur Lee Gamble and Steve Gamble and aunts, Lillian Lofton (Ron), Katherine Myers, Eileen Gamble and Shirley Cooper (Wayne). She will also be dearly missed by her bonus aunts, Jeanette Egana and Doris Bailey, along with a host of cousins, several Godchildren and her very dear friends.

Denice valued time spent with “the Cousins,” “the Aunts and Uncles,” and lifelong “Family/Friends” that supported her and included her in making great memories throughout life. She was so proud of her Gamble, Easterling, McLaurin, Myers, Green and extended Families. We literally spent several moments looking at pictures and sharing stories about how close we were growing up together at our Grandparents houses and everyone stopped at our house. We laughed and talked often about how all the food, card parties, snacks, toys, laughter, Monopoly, buttered popcorn and love made our house a HOME for FAMILY.

This celebration of life is in honor of our little Sister Denice Angele Gamble Going Home.
