David J. Weyand

David J. Weyand, age 87, passed away on April 24, 2026, joining his wife of 50 years, Theresa M. Weyand in Heaven. He was born on July 12, 1938, to the late George L. and Susan Agnes Dulin Weyand.

David was employed by Hammermill / International Paper for 45 years. He was a United States Army Veteran during the Cold War and Vietnam eras from 1961-1963 in Fort Polk, LA. He also served 5 years in the Reserves.

He was a bass player in the local band, Orchids in the late 1950s. David and his wife were active in A.R.B.A. (American Rabbit Breeders Association), and 4-H Rabbit Breeders. They raised Beagles, Boxers and German Shepherds and were bowlers throughout the Erie and Girard areas over the years.

The family would like to give a special thanks, Nicholas, Debi and Nick Jr. Rearick, Joshua, Krista and Paisley Rearick, Ed Ranowicki and Jen for helping Papa out more than they know.

Memorials may be made to Meals On Wheels, E.A.R.S., Erie Humane Society or the Erie County Cooperative Extension Office (4-H).
