David Taylor, age 79, of Lake City passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday June 3, 2025, at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Erie on June 27, 1945, a son of the late Howard and Bernice Zuck Taylor.
David attended McDowell High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy for four years. During that time, he met his wife-to-be, Dimple Fox.
He was originally a truck driver by trade for over 40 years and later became a rental property owner/landlord. He was known for his wit and sense of humor. Anywhere he went, he would interact with strangers and bring a smile to their face. David was devoted to his family and always put his loved ones first.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Florence Totleben.
David is survived by his wife of 56 years Dimple Taylor; his children: Wendy Taylor-Hamilton and her partner, Thomas Riley of Girard; Steve Barickman and his wife Dee of Albion; Heidi Cianchetti and her husband Brian of Millcreek; Shawn Taylor of Lake City; and Brian Taylor of Erie; a brother Howard Taylor and his wife Sandy of Harborcreek; four grandchildren: Alexander Digon and his wife Taylour; Bradley Digon; Brody Barickman; and Skyler Barickman; two great grandchildren: David and Elizabeth; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog.
Services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. Girard.
