David B. Plummer, age 67, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday April 22, 2026 at UPMC Hamot Hospital surrounded by loved ones. He was born on January 25, 1959 in Fort Bragg, NC, a son of Charles and Delores Reed Plummer.
David graduated from Pine Forest Senior High School, Fayetteville, NC and Fayetteville Technical Community College where he earned a degree in Commercial Art. Upon graduation, David relocated to Johnstown PA where he became manager of the local McCrory Store. He later moved to Erie, PA where he worked many years and eventually retired as District Manager of Dollar General.
From a young age, David displayed incredible talent as an artist and collected several awards throughout his schooling. Beyond his artistic pursuits which even included knife making, he had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, especially enjoying rides along the shores of Lake Erie. He loved to fish for Walleye, hit the dirt track, and rock out to live concerts. He was also an avid gardener and a fantastic cook. David was known for his hard work and dedication. His outgoing nature made him shine in retail, where he built lasting relationships. David tackled life’s challenges with stubborn persistence and a determination that inspired everyone around him. Above all, he was fiercely loyal to his family, whom he loved so much.
He is preceded in death by his sister Patricia Plummer.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his wife of 20 years, Deborah Thieme Plummer; children: Ben (Angela); Brian, Andrew and Nicole Plummer and step-daughter Karleen Amoroso; his grandchildren Elizabeth, Abigail, Emma and Annabelle Plummer; his siblings: Terry (Jeannie) Plummer, Sandra (Ron) Campanario, Rebecca (Paul) Rodriguez, and Linda Plummer. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Albert (Sharon) Thieme; sisters-in-law: Shirley Padget and Sharon (Bob) Orr, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visitation with the family on Sunday April 26th from 5pm – 8pm at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, Inc. West Ridge, 3801 West 26th St. and attend a service there on Monday April 27th at 11am.
