David Martin Parsh, age 81, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Walnut Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born on July 10, 1944, a son of the late Alvin and Harriet (Seabrook) Parsh.
David graduated from Strong Vincent Highschool where he was valedictorian and earned a mechanical engineering degree from Gannon University.
He worked a majority of his career at Lord Corporation and then spent time at General Electric and Clarion University.
David enjoyed a number of things including music and singing in the church choirs of Luther Memorial Church, Salem/ St Pauls churches in Knox, and Abiding Hope Church in Erie. He was a frequent performer with the Gannon University theater, Mercyhurst Center for the Performing Arts, and the Erie Playhouse. He was a passionate fan of Erie hockey, trains, and model railroading. Most of all, David enjoyed that which made those around him happiest. He enjoyed volunteering his time for his sons’ sporting and marching band events, participating in his wife’s ministries, or offering a well-timed pun or joke to share a smile with friends and family.
He was a member of multiple church and community choirs and the Knox Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Christine (Parsh) Sedgwick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Karen, and their two sons, James Michael (Kathleen Parsh) and Gregory. In addition, he is survived by 2 grandsons, Benjamin and Samuel, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday, September 12th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Abiding Hope Lutheran Church 2400 W. Grandview Blvd. Erie, PA 16506.
