Daniel J. Weber

Daniel J. Weber, age 68, of Lake City, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on July 28, 2025.

He was born in Erie on May 21, 1957, a son of the late Gilbert J. and Dorothy (Hoehn) Weber.

Dan graduated from Girard High School in 1976 and received his associates degree in drafting from Triangle Tech.  He worked at multiple positions for Copes Vulcan/SPX for over 45 years.

Those who knew Danny will remember him as kind and hardworking, always ready and willing to help others. He faced the challenges of a lengthy illness with extraordinary perseverance and courage. In the words of his wife, Theresa, “Danny was a true warrior, fighting cancer for over twenty years, never complaining.” Danny and Theresa were together for thirty-one years and married for twenty-six of those years. He loved his life, and he strived valiantly to live it to the fullest. He and Theresa created a wealth of memories as they worked together on expanding and redesigning their beautiful country home and raising their family. Danny was a man of many talents. At the age of sixteen he was working on cars and built himself a “field buggy”. He helped his brothers build a log cabin and he had a passion for carpentry. He and his two brothers built the two-story home where he and Theresa spent their lives together. Danny put his heart and soul into taking on many projects to enhance his home. He often worked side by side with his good friend and cousin, Bruce Billings, on his home. Danny loved to go hunting, fishing and camping with his brothers and nephews. He loved listening to music from the 60’s and 70’s and was a huge Pink Floyd fan and attended many rock concerts. Over the years, Danny and Theresa, traveled to many places including the Smoky Mountains, the Grand Canyon in Arizona, Las Vegas, Florida and the Poconos to name a few. They especially enjoyed their many day trips going to wine tastings, hiking in the woods, seeing waterfalls, attending plays and eating at many wonderful restaurants.

Danny was a good man who was greatly loved and who will be greatly missed by his family. He had a special place in his heart for his beloved granddaughter, Alexandra Lynn Perry (Allie).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, James and Anthony Weber and a sister, Shirley Weber.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Theresa Weber; his children, Katie Perry of Erie and Cameron Weber of Lake City; a brother, John “Jack” Weber; four sisters, Carol DiMarco, Marilyn Meade, Patricia Weber and Theresa Zimmerman; a sister-in-law, Char Weber and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St., Girard, PA, on Saturday August 2, 2025, from 1:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm with Rev. Emily Zeig Lindsey officiating.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jan Rothman and the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center for their love and care over the many years. Also, a very special thanks to his hospice caregiver, Renee, who went above and beyond, in her words and her care, to help Dan and his family through a very difficult time.
