Daniel J. Honard, age 70, of Erie, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 due to complications from Parkinson’s at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on February 11, 1956, a son of the late Jerome and Pierette Nadeau Honard.
Daniel attended St. John’s in Girard and graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1974. He dedicated many years of his life to his work with Dahlkemper Catalog Showroom, Dodsworth and Lake Erie Logistics and was a faithful member of St. Julia Church.
Fishing was Daniel’s true passion, a peaceful escape where he found both joy and connection. Whether casting a line along Lake Erie or sharing stories by the water, his favorite moments were those spent with friends and his grandchildren creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Above all else, Dan’s greatest pride and deepest joy was his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He treasured every moment spent with them—watching them grow, cheering them on, and simply being present in their lives. Whether by the water, at a game, or gathered together, those were the moments he held closest to his heart.
Dan also enjoyed attending Erie Otters hockey games and could often be found cruising on summer nights in his beloved 1979 CJ5 Jeep, enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Andrew.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46years, Evelyn Honard; his son Chris (Erin) of Cochranton; his daughter Michele (James) Pacansky of Fairview; grandchildren: Logan Danielson, Lydia Honard, Colten Pacansky, Ayden Honard, and Jordyn Pacansky. He is especially remembered by his niece Jennifer (Stephen) Binney, who held a special place in his heart, along with many other loving nieces and nephews. He is further survived by good friends, Ed (Diane) Porowski and Ed (Suzan) Dahlkemper.
