Clarita (Kiki) Schoen, of Fairview, PA age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2026 after a long illness.
She was born July 19, 1951, the daughter of the late Clair and Eleanor Dinger of Albion. A graduate of Northwestern High School, she completed her bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Edinboro State College (now Penn West Edinboro) in 1973. She joined the United States Postal Service in 1973, beginning a 34-year career, including 25 years as Postmaster in Lake City PA. Following her retirement from the USPS, Kiki obtained her certification to teach English as a Second Language (ESL). For the next nine years, she provided a pathway to success for many students from different countries and educational backgrounds. Her friendly smile and positive attitude encouraged an “I can do this” determination in children adapting to new surroundings.
Kiki loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed riding her bike at Presque Isle State Park, reading, her daily walk, playing cards with friends and family, and planting flowers in her garden. Annual family trips coordinated over 20 years with her twin sister’s family included visits to many national parks around the country. A long-time member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church, Kiki expressed her enjoyment of music as a faithful member of the bell choir. She served frequently as a greeter and added her lovely soprano to the church hymns from her favorite seat in the church balcony. Her legacy, like her voice, is sweet and clear: always aspire to reach out to those in need and lend a helping hand.
Kiki is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roy Schoen of Fairview, son David Schoen (Christie) of Pittsburgh, grandchildren Ava and Allie, and daughter Rebecca Schoen (Austin Parham) of Pittsburgh, grandchild Edward. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her brother Douglas (Shirley) of Albion, PA, twin sister Bonnie (Eric) of Pittsburgh, and several in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
