Clara Marquis

Clara Louise Marquis, age 96 passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Manchester Commons.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother. 

She was born in Wellington Texas on February 15, 1926, daughter of the late William and Clara Bettis.  Louise graduated from Wellington High School.  She worked at Waldameer Amusement Park, Trask Department Store, and Super Duper.   She loved being a wife, a mom, and grandmother.  She enjoyed gardening, planting the flowers that were grown in her greenhouse and enjoyed doing crafts.  She enjoyed solving her daily crossword puzzle.  She was a member of St Mark’s Episcopal Church for over 75 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her daughter, Donna Fish, her son in law, Jack P. Fish, sister, Janell Brown, and her twin brothers, James Bettis and William Bettis and brother Leon Bettis.

Louise is survived by her sister Sharon Morris (Darrell), three sons, Dennis, (Denise), Timothy (Chris), Randall (Judy).  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Mark, Joey (Paul), Brian, Megan, Jay (Maria), David, Veronica (Chris), great grandchildren Marissa, Brittany, Braeden, Jamys, Ronan, Clara, Catherine, and great great grandson Judah.

Services were private with burial at St Mark’s Episcopal Church Columbarium . Arrangements were entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott, Cremation and Funeral Service West Ridge, 3801 W 26th Erie PA  16506. 

Memorial may be made to St Mark’s Episcopal Church 4701 Old French Rd., Erie PA  16509 or to a charity of one’s choice.
