Christopher L. McClay

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Christopher L. McClay, aged 54, on November 29, 2025, after a long illness.

He was born on March 27, 1971, in Erie, Pennsylvania, and was the youngest child of the late Paul and Thelma (Oakes) McClay.

Christopher was a kind-hearted person. He found comfort in support groups and was a regular attendee at church services.

He had a passion for music and playing the electric guitar. Christopher also enjoyed playing video games.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Daniel Volkman.

He leaves behind to cherish him in memory, his siblings: Jeff McClay of Erie, Mark McClay and his wife, Julie, of Fairview, Darin McClay and his wife, Vickie, of Fairview and Lisa McClay-Welch and her husband, Joseph, of McCaysville, Georgia. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Christopher will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Main Street East, Girard, Pennsylvania 16417.
