Christine Koehle

Christine Jensen Koehle passed away in her home on December 9, 2025, after a long struggle with cancer. Her advice “Don’t smoke.” She was born on December 10, 1945, daughter to Henry and Alice Petersen Jensen.

She attended Perry Grade School and Academy High School (Class of 1963). She also earned an associate degree from Gannon University.

Christine spent many years working in the Industrial Engineering Department of the Mechanical Drives Division of Zurn Industries. After retirement, she worked part time at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie.

She loved to travel especially to Sandals Negril Jamaica. The highlights of her travels were tours of Ireland, Japan, and Denmark.

Known as Deane to her family and friends, she was pre-deceased by her parents, stepmother Joyce Carrideo Jensen, brothers Rich, John, and Craig, her sisters Linda Landis and Louise, her stepson Andrew Koehle, and her nephew Jeff Landis, Jr.

Christine is survived by her husband William, stepdaughter Elspeth (Azim) Koehle, stepson Nathaniel (Jade) Koehle, grandchildren Raleigh, Ari, Kennedy, Ada, and Elijah; sisters Debbie Sawtelle (David), Ann Swanson (Ron), and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Inc., Downtown, 602 West 10th St. on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 12 noon until 3:00pm ending with a time of reflection.

Her husband strongly urges that in lieu of flowers those wishing to commemorate Deane’s memory consider donating to the Sommer Lyst Club, PO Box 1062, Erie, PA 16512-1062; UPMC Family Hospice Heart of Gratitude, 1700 Peach Street Suite 244, Erie, PA 16501, or the charity of their choice.
