Christine Martha DeBartolo, age 84, formerly of North Syracuse, NY, having moved to Erie, PA to be closer to her daughter in her later life, passed away at Manchester Commons on November 29, 2024.
She was born in Zwickau, Germany on December 30, 1939, the daughter of the late Friedrich and Doris Albrecht Saupe.
She was a graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy in NY and worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Onondaga County Department of Aging and Youth until her retirement.
Christine loved and spent countless weekends boating on Lake Ontario with her husband and family; listening to music, most likely jazz; and loved to spend winters being warm, most often in Florida. As she grew older, spending time with her children and grandchildren became more important than anything.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Louis DeBartolo and a son-in-law, John Walsh.
Christine is survived by her two daughters: Andrea Muscarella, husband Jim and Amy Walsh; four grandchildren, Joey, Nick, Kyle; and Evan; and a sister, Susanne Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Manchester Commons and AseraCare Hospice Services for the care they gave to Christine at the end of her life.
Services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott, Westridge.
Because of her love of dogs, memorials may be made to Because You Care, Inc, 6041 West Rd., McKean, PA 16426.
