Charles K. Thor

Charles K. Thor (Chuck), age 82, of Erie, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at UPMC Hamot Hospital. He was born in Erie, PA on April 28, 1944, a son of the late Arnold Thor and Barbara Kimmel.

Chuck attended Technical Memorial High School. In his younger years, he served proudly in the United States Army. He later worked as a truck driver for different companies until he owned and drove his own semi-trailer truck. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was a friend of Bill W. for 47 years. In recent years he enjoyed going camping and being out in the fresh air. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and other car races on TV. Chuck was known for his quick wit and sharp sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes. However, he especially loved going for a ride on his motorcycle on a nice day with his wife, Leith, of 47 years. Chuck felt the most free when he was on the road.

In addition to his loving wife and soulmate, Leith Cranston Thor, Chuck is survived by his children: Lisa Landa, Erik Thor and his wife Jennifer; William Thor and his wife Traci; and Emily Bryant and her husband Devon. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins here in Erie, North Carolina, New Mexico, Virginia, and Florida.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date, with details to be announced by the family.
