Charles O'Day

Charles Edward O’Day, age 85, of Erie passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at LECOM at Presque Isle. He was born June 16, 1937 in Erie the son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Slate) O’Day.

A lifelong resident of Erie, Charles worked as a Prototype Technician at the Lord Corp. and following his retirement, later worked for BSI as a painter. He enjoyed fishing and loved his dogs. Charles was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church where he volunteered with their Food Bank.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas O’Day and three sisters; Loretta O’Day, Gertrude O’Day, and Catherine Lindenberger.

Charles is survived by a son, Patrick O’Day (Paola Quiroz) of Brookfield, WI; a daughter, Kathleen Mehler of Erie; and a granddaughter, Deirdre O’Day. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families along with his former wife, Marianne (Rapp) O’Day.

There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church will be announced by the family at a later date.
