Charles E. Mangel

Charles E. Mangel, 87, Erie, passed away Thursday, October 15th, 2026.

He was born in Pleasantville, PA on September 5, 1939, son of the late Bert L. and Wealthea (Howell) Mangel.

He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965.

He worked in the maintenance department and as a security guard for Pennzoil for 15 years.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by four brothers, James L. Mangel, Donald Mangel, Robert Mangel and Richard Mangel.

He is survived by a son, John Mangel (Kelly), of Sedalia, MO; three daughters, Laura Peterson (Bryan Moon) of Meadville, PA, Carol Mangel of Warren, PA, Rebecca Mott (Adam) of Piney Flats, TN; a sister, Diane Harmon (Dick) of Bath, NY. He is further survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, 3801 West 26th Street, on Wednesday, October 21st from 11 a.m. until the time of service there at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
