Charles Haile

Charles A. Haile, age 84, passed away on December 22, 2022, in Mars, PA. 

He was born on October 8, 1938, in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late Charles D. and Anna Catherine Schanck Haile (Teyssier).

Charles attended Langley High School in Pittsburgh and served in the United States Navy.  After military service, he moved to the Erie, PA area and was self-employed as a general contractor based in Lake City, PA. He enjoyed listening to jazz, fishing, coaching softball, model trains, baking, painting, and woodworking projects, and was a Notre Dame Dad and ardent fan. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Haile and a brother, Dwight David Haile.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Haile of Pittsburgh, and his brother Bill Teyssier and his husband Chuck Rugemer of Westminster, Maryland, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Friends are invited to call at Burton Funeral Home 525 Main Street East, Girard, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00pm. A prayer service with eulogies will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the University of Notre Dame, directing your gift to the Financial Aid Fund, and the family.
