Cecilia Grace Toohey

Cecilia Grace Toohey, 89, of Erie, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children that loved her on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at UPMC Hamot.

She was born on September 26, 1936, a daughter of the late Michael John and Anna Kowalski Gregory.

Cecilia loved being a homemaker taking care of her children and her home. She was fiercely independent and took pride in caring for her yard and flower beds. She was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping and looking for a good deal. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Toohey; a daughter, Julie A. Toohey; three brothers, Robert, Richard and Francis Gregory and a sister Barbara Blakeslee.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Toohey, Kristin Marie Misercola, James Eric Toohey, and Craig Andrew Toohey; and several grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the care of the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 602 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16502.
