Cathie Ann Fohner

Cathie Ann Shaw Fohner, age 55 of Lake City, passed away on August 10, 2025, at UPMC Hamot Hospital after a brief battle with liver disease.

She was born in Grove City, PA on November 11, 1969, the daughter of Joan Kreiter Shaw and the late Art Shaw.

Cathie graduated from McDowell High School and went on to study at Tri-State Business Institute to become a paralegal. She was a bus driver for Fairview School District for many years and worked at a plastic factory for several years. She always put others before herself and that’s what made her an amazing mother, wife, daughter and aunt. She enjoyed sewing projects, seeing flowers and spending time with family. She collected little knickknacks such as Merry Moos and chickens. In her free time, she made quilts and blankets for Project Linus.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Jeffrey Lee Shaw; her grandparents; and her nephew, Hunter Tenney, and her dog Jake.

Cathie is survived by her former husband, Chuck Fohner; her children, Cody, Anthony and Brooke; her mother, Joan Shaw; her brother John and his wife Conni; her sister, Susan Tenney and her husband Darren; as well as her nephews, Parker, Brian, Skyler and Ryder and her niece, Emma, and her dog Bentley.

Friends and family may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, on Wednesday August 13, 2025, from 3:00pm until the time of service at 6:00pm.
