Carolyn Siegel

Carolyn Siegel, 91, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her residence.

She was born in Reynoldsville, PA on May 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Homer and Iva Mae Carl Frank.

She was a graduate of Reynoldsville High School and attended Hamot School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Hamot Hospital in Erie for over 29 years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and bird watching.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, T. Richard Siegel; and her siblings, Dorothy Brezenski, Isobel Frank, Josephine Frank, Edward Frank, Irvin Frank, June Kauffman, Robert Frank, and Ester Miller.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Stephen) Sample, Theodore (Barbara) Siegel and George (Sandra) Siegel; her brother Kenneth (Ilona) Frank; her grandchildren, Cheri (Joe) Szcodronski, Jessica LaFlamme, Amy Twining, Theodore Siegel, Allison (Sam Kimmel) Siegel, Rick (Ashley) Cherico, Michael (Tsutomu) Long, Sean  Cherico, James (Samantha) Long, Joseph Sample, Lisa Dominick, Jennifer (Jason) Stone; her great grandchildren, Alex, Zac, Kate, Jillian, Loralei, Logan, Nathan, Sophia, Miles, Maddox, Sayge, Christopher, Julian, and Ellie. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street, Erie, on Saturday, September 16, from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am.  Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to UPMC Family Hospice, 1700 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16501 or to the charity of one’s choice.
