Carol Ann Wilkins Bruno, a beloved aunt, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at LECOM hospice, on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the age of 76.
She was born on December 14, 1948, in Erie, PA, to Cameron Bruce Wilkins and Betty Jane (Zwilling) Wilkins Eaton.
Carol was a 1966 graduate of McDowell High School. She took pride in being a Majorette. Growing up, she enjoyed ice skating on the pond on McCreary Rd. She often reminisced of her memories with childhood friends Betsy, Sharon, Tony, and the Zelinas. She held dear her family vacations to visit the Zwilling cousins.
Carol retired from Pleasant Ridge Manor where she worked in finance and billing. Known for her social nature and stunning blue eyes, Carol made friends everywhere she went. She was a long time member of the Sportsmans Athletic Club and Millcreek American Legion Post 773. Many recall her eagerly bussing the tables during happy hour at the Sporty! Carol always laughed remembering the good old days with Emmy and Deaker, and the whole entourage. She enjoyed hanging out with her “pool girls” during the summers. Above all, she took pride in being “Aunt Carol”. She looked forward to Jeopardy every night with her niece Lindsey and her fur niece, Deppy Doo. “Zinzy”and her nephew, “Cameroon” always held a big piece of “Aunt Cayo's” heart.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her infant brother, Thomas Wilkins, step-brother David Eaton, loving step-father, David C. Eaton, and brother-in-law Timothy J. Clark. Also, her long time love, John V. Spusta Jr. preceded her in death. What a reunion that will be!
Carol leaves behind to cherish her in memory her sister, Barbara (Wilkins) Clark, brother, Dick Wilkins (Carol), step-sister Debbie Eaton, sister-in-law Sandy Eaton Creighton; nephews, David Eaton, Richard Eaton, and Cameron T. Wilkins (Vanessa) and Matthew; as well as nieces Lindsey J. Clark and Amy Eaton; great nephews and niece, Benjamin, Nathaniel, and Eliza Wilkins. Cousin Richard has always been dear to her heart. She loved her “kids”, Holly Spusta (Ron), Jimmy Spusta (Janet), and Kelly Spusta. She adored her “Amy Lynn” and “Amy Sue”, and Chad, and her “adopted niece” Amelia Leone. To all of her wonderful friends, please know she loved you all very much.
