Carl E. Figurski

Carl Edward Figurski of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 5, 2025. He was 68 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph.

A resident of Erie his entire life, Carl was born on May 29th, 1957, to Rose and Joseph Figurski. He attended East High School and worked as a corrections officer at the Erie county prison for over 20 years. He received several commendations throughout the years there until his retirement in 2022.

Throughout his life, he earned a black belt in Japanese style karate and jui-jitsu and ran a karate program at the east side YMCA for children and adults for many years. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland sports games with his family and enjoyed other activities such as bowling, billiards, and golf.

He was a devout Catholic and was extremely charitable and was always warm and welcoming to everyone he came to meet.

He is survived by his two children, Elizabeth and Charles (Kaitlynn), his mother Rose, two grandchildren Coralina and Caeden, three brothers Joseph (Sarah), Mark (Jennifer) and Steven (Laura) and other friends and family. 

Friends are invited to call at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 837 Bartlett Rd, Harborcreek, PA 16421, on Thursday, December 18th from 9 AM until the time of funeral mass there at 11 AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, PA 16510.
