Brenda Lee Burton

Brenda Lee Burton, age 72, of Fairview and formerly of Millcreek Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, April 1^st, 2024.

She was born in Erie, August 29, 1951, a daughter of the late Vincent DeArment and Frances Cottrell Sosey.

Brenda graduated from McDowell High School, Class of 1969, and St. Vincent School of Nursing, Class of 1985.

She was an operating room nurse for Hamot Hospital for 17 years, and then worked for Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, FL for five years.

Brenda was a member of Grace Church in McKean, PA and was a member of their prayer team.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and also gardening, crossword puzzles, mall shopping, lunch get-togethers with retired co-workers, and Bible study.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Damian Althof; grandmother, Helen Matilda Cottrell; and sister in law, Linda Zimmer.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years Chad Burton, daughter Michele Lee Althof and her husband Eric, son Michael Burton and his wife Amanda; four grandchildren: Savanna Jean and Madison Lee Althof, Cameron Rose and Charlotte Reese Burton; stepsister, Nanette Dodick (Ted); brothers-in-law Gary Burton (Sharon), Jody Burton (Kathy), and David Zimmer, also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is further survived by a close friend, Brenda Mandic and her husband Tony, who visited her weekly. 

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, West Ridge, 3801 West 26^th Street, on Friday, April 12^th from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8, and attend the service there on Saturday, April 13 at 11 am. Interment will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
