Bonnie Lee Hale Kissell

Bonnie Lee Hale Kissell, 81, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 10, 1944, in Erie, Bonnie was the cherished daughter of the late Lucian and Betty Hale. Her father tragically passed away during World War II when she was just two years old, and she was lovingly raised from that point on by James Baxter, who, along with her parents, has also preceded her in death.

Bonnie shared 40 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Tyrone Kissell. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and deep devotion. In their later years, Bonnie and Ty traveled extensively across the United States in their motorhome, exploring national parks, touring historic lighthouses, and creating unforgettable memories on the road. Their adventures eventually led them to settle in Florida, where they spent nearly 25 happy years before returning to Erie to be closer to family.

Bonnie was a dedicated homemaker, raising her children and later helping to nurture her grandchildren with endless care and affection. Outside the home, she worked as a secretary at various businesses throughout the community, always bringing warmth and dedication to her work. She is survived by her two children: Kimberly Kuligowski and her husband, Joel, and Mike McCall and his wife, Tammie. Bonnie was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Tiffany Irwin, Brittany Doyle (Kyle), Crystal Nielsen (Jason), Shawn McCall (Lizzy), and Sara Kuligowski. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.

Bonnie is also survived by her dear sister, Candy Baxter, and her brother, Larry Baxter. She held close the bonds of family throughout her life, cherishing every moment spent together.

An avid gardener and gifted crafter, Bonnie found joy in creating plastic canvas projects and tending to her plants. Her faithful feline companion, Basil, was always nearby, providing comfort and companionship.

Bonnie's family extends heartfelt gratitude to the UPMC Hospice team for their compassionate care and support in her final days.

Her presence, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A private family service will be held in her honor.
