Betty Jane Hoffman

Betty J. Hoffman 94 of Erie, PA, formerly of Heilwood, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday May 13, 2026. She was the loving wife of Gerry Hoffman, having shared 70 years of marriage at the time of her death.

Born in Heilwood, PA, Betty was the youngest daughter of the late Sebastian and Annabelle (DeFelice) Falcone who immigrated from Teramo, in the Region of Abruzzo Italy in the early 1900’s. Betty was a graduate of Pine Township High School, class of 1950. She moved to Erie shortly after graduation and was hired by General Electric followed by a position at GTE. After marriage, Betty was a homemaker who eventually returned to the work force at Lord Corporation and retired after 15 years as a Customer Service representative. She was a former member of Our Lady of Peace Church and the West Ridge Hose Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was as an avid bowler and golfer and former member of Lawrence Park Golf Club where she even scored a hole-in-one.

Betty is survived by her husband Gerry, Her sons, Mark and wife Robin Hoffman, Bill and wife Betty Jean Hoffman all of Erie, and Jim Hoffman of Parma, OH. She had 7 grandchildren, David, Laura, Dillon Hoffman and Leah Hoffman Rigby, Lindsay, Alyssa and Joshua Hoffman. She also had 2 great grandchildren, McKellen and Hera Rigby. Betty was preceded in death by her oldest son Michael and twin sons as well as her 10 siblings.

A private “celebration of life” will take place at a later date.
