It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bartholomew “Bart” Prozzoly, age 83, on September 4, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after a short illness.
He was born on May 13, 1942, in Pittsburgh, to the late Sam and Clara (Novelli) Prozzoly.
After graduating from Carnegie High School in 1960, Bart proudly served in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Bart worked as a social worker focusing on the needs of veterans in Pennsylvania’s VA hospitals.
He cherished the simple joys of life and was often found with a book in hand. Bart was also passionate about photography and gardening with his late wife, Wallis.
In addition to his wife, Wallis (Snee) Prozzoly and parents, Sam and Clara Prozzoly, he is preceded in death by his stepson, Keith Walucas.
He leaves behind to cherish him in memory, his brother, Joseph Prozzoly; sister, Anita Prozzoly; sisters-in-law, Carol Carmichael and Alice R. Montagna and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a grandson.
An informal gathering with Full Military Honors will be held in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. West Ridge, 3801 West Ridge Road, Erie, Pennsylvania 16506.
