Barbara J. (Lewis) Novakowski , age 75, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025. She was born on March 2, 1950, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late John E. Lewis and Fanny Stebnisky Lewis.

Barbara was raised alongside her sister Mildred E. (Lewis) Kuhn and later in life found her half siblings enjoying many times together. Family was the foundation of her life, and she carried a deep love for those closest to her throughout her years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon L. (Lewis) Perham; a half sister, Doris M. Lewis and a half brother, John E. Lewis.

She was a devoted mother to her children: Brian P. Novakowski and his wife Megan and John Lanagan. Her sister Mildred Kuhn; a half brother, Thomas J. Lewis, and a son-in-law, Tad Perham. Barbara was also a cherished aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother to many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Barbara was proud of her accomplishments. She retired from GE , was a blood donor for over 15 yrs and breast cancer survivor.

Barbara possessed a gentle and creative spirit. She found great joy in the arts, expressing herself thru painting and drawing A poet at heart, she often wrote verses to bring her dreams and reflections to life on paper. In the kitchen, she showed her love by preparing and sharing homemade dishes, delighting in creating meals that brought smiles to others. Even as her health declined and limited her ability to stand for long periods, her desire to give and care for others never faded. She continued to visit loved ones whenever possible, often bringing along a homemade treat or thoughtful gesture.

Nature brought Barbara peace and comfort. She loved the sound and sight of waterfalls, the beauty of the lake, drifting clouds, and her cherished fish. These simple yet profound joys reflected her appreciation for life’s quiet wonders.

Barbara is now at rest, at peace, watching over those she loved so deeply.

She will be forever remembered and dearly missed.
