Anne Shenk

December 30, 1921 — November 10, 2012

Anne Shenk, age 91, of the Regency and formerly of 4356 West 11th Erie, passed away November 10, 2012 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center.

She was born in Erie, on December 30, 1921, of the late Edgar R. and Dorothy Kennedy Shenk.

She was a graduate of Ashley Hall, Charleston, SC, and Stonleigh Jr. College, Rye Beach, NH.

She was a central-file department manager at Penn Bank (Formerly Security-Peoples Trust Company and now, National City) for 43 years, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of the Kahkwa Club, the Junior League of Erie and a founding member of Wayside Presbyterian Church, serving as a trustee and flower chairman for many years.

She served on the V.N.A. Board for 38 years, and the Erie Infants Home Board. She was also active with Meals on Wheels for 15 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty O. Shenk.

Anne is survived by first cousins; Louise K. Loesel of Erie; Barbara Taylor of Chagin Falls, OH; Sara Townsend of Brunswick, MA; Norman Shenk of Redding, CT and Wilbur Shenk of Naples, FL and many friends.

Friends are invited to attend a service at Wayside Presbyterian Church, 1208 Asbury Road, Erie, PA 16505 on Thursday, November 15th at 11am. with Rev Jim Haas and Rev. Keith Sundberg officiating. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wayside Presbyterian Church, Visiting Nurses Association, 2253 West Grandview Blvd., Erie PA 16506, or Erie Homes for Children and Adults, 226 East 27th Street, Erie PA 16504.
