Anna Cecilia Hoefer Van Slyke, age 88, of Cranesville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
She was born September 27, 1937, in Charleston, WV, the daughter of the late Louis A. Hoefer and Frances C. Kimmel Hoefler Donahey.
Ann had been employed for 22 years at the ‘Albion News’ in Albion, PA, in the darkroom and as a proofreader. She loved to travel and always had a suitcase ready to go. She would read any type of book, did needlepoint and enjoyed building doll houses and miniature furniture.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a baby brother Carl Louis Hoefer; son Michael L. Van Slyke; her husband, Lawrence Harry Van Slyke; her daughter, Heather A. Van Slyke; and brother-in-law, Stanley Hopkins.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Lacey Jo Van Slyke and Amber Jean Braden; a grandson, Jared Thomas Braden and his wife Breanna; two great grandchildren, Paisley Confer and Ryder Confer. Also surviving are two half-sisters, Robin Hopkins and Judy Vanderwort and her husband Robert; a son-in-law, John Casbohm; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
