Ann Gorney

Ann Gorney age 80, of Millcreek, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in Erie on July 30, 1945, a daughter of the late Andrew and Elvira Bucceri Marofsky.

Ann graduated from Strong Vincent High School and dedicated her life to working in various roles while raising her children. Over the years, she worked at Fergie’s Catering as a serving staff manager, assisting with large events. She also worked for the Erie City School District, at Central Career and Technical School, where she was effectively known as everyone’s favorite lunch lady.

Ann cherished spending time with family above all else. She was lovingly called “Meemaw” by her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, going to her favorite church to attend mass, lunch dates with her dear friends, and treating herself to a good mauve manicure. Her calm and relaxed presence made her a joy to be around, fostering genuine conversations and plenty of laughter. Her love for family and friends was so strong it was felt even from afar.

Ann is survived by her brother Robert Marofsky; three children, Kerry (Gorney) Kala, Bradley Gorney (Becky), and Mark Gorney (Christina); seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Garrett), Kelsey, Kara, Maddie, Daniel, Fenton, and Hudson. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her siblings, Butch Marofsky & MaryJane Richwalsky, and her daughter Stacy Gorney.

Friends and family may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Saturday, December 13th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.
