Angela Skonieczka

Angela Skonieczka (formerly Angela Stanton), age 90, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2026, at LECOM Parkside at Glenwood.

Angela was the eldest of six siblings in the Rice Family, respected residents of Ripley, New York. Angela graduated from Ripley Central High School and soon got married. She then moved to Erie, PA, where she raised two sons, and enjoyed a long and successful career as a hair stylist. Angela enjoyed golfing, playing pinochle with her friends, and all family gatherings.

Angela was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Stanton, her brothers, Rodney and Ehrman Rice; her sister, Diane Burnside; her mother, Ethel Rice; her father Donald Rice; her second husband, Richard Skonieczka; and her son, Donald Stanton.

Angela is survived by her son, Mike Stanton (Ninette), of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Ian Stanton, of Erie, PA; Chelsea English, of San Diego, CA; Luke Stanton, of San Diego, CA; and four great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, PA 16510 on Sunday, January 18th, please arrive between 1 and 1:30 pm for a funeral gathering at 1:30, reception of friends to follow from 2 until 3 pm. Burial will take place at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
