Alvoid Dorsey Pearson

Alvoid Dorsey Pearson Sr., age 87, of Erie, Pennsylvania (formerly of Arlington and Fairfax County, Virginia) passed on Thursday, April 23, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Washington D.C. at what was known at the time as Freedom Hospital on February 20, 1939.

Alvoid graduated from Lee-Jackson High School (now called Mount Vernon). He formerly worked as a chauffeur for the late Congressman, Joel T Broyhill of Virginia.

Alvoid also worked for A.G. Van Metre Companies, E&R Trucking and retired from the Fairfax County Public School system as a county Building Supervisor.

In additon to his spouse Yvonne (Coleman) Pearson, he is preceded in death by his brother Charles T. Pearson.

Alvoid is survived by his sons, Alvoid D Pearson Jr., Charles E. Pearson, former spouse Viola E. (Williams) Pearson as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
