Alton Hill Jr.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alton Hill Jr., who left this world on January 22, 2026, at the age of 69, at UPMC Hamot Hospital.

He was born on December 5, 1956, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, to the late Alton and Bernice (London) Hill Sr.

Alton spent his later years in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was a cherished son and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. An avid lover of card games and scratch-off tickets and though he faced challenges in life, Alton embraced each day as a gift. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Althea Chappell.

He is survived by his brother, Eddie Hill (Joan Davis), of Erie; former sister-in-law, Gloria Hill and sisters, Lysharon Hill, of Erie and Mary Thomas, of Georgia. He is further survived by his cousins, Bette Bumper, Doris Montgomery, Gloria Hilton, all of Summerset, New Jersey, Veronica English and Barbara Powell, both of Maryland, Louise Williams, of Florida; nieces, Lisa Hubbart, of Erie and Kim Adams, of Philadelphia and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
