There are many benefits to making pre-arrangements for your funeral. In fact, it’s one of the most thoughtful things you can do for your family…and yourself.
- Pre-planning lets you make your wishes known, so your loved ones don't have to guess if they are doing the right things.
- Pre-planning eliminates emotional overspending by your loved ones during a time of grief and sorrow.
- Pre-planning lets you personalize your funeral that honors you, your religious and cultural traditions and personal preferences.
- Pre-planning relieves your family of future financial responsibility.
- If your children or next of kin live out of town, pre-planning will ease the stress and emotional burden they could experience in making hasty arrangements from afar or local on-the-spot decisions.
To pre-arrange your funeral or of a loved one, visit any of our four locations. Or, we’re happy to visit your home and discuss matters there. Make an appointment and get all of your questions answered today by calling Terry Colvin, Burton’s director of pre-planning, at 814-454-4551.

I am tremendously grateful to you for how beautiful my loved ones funeral turned out. I have heard how you are in a fog at this time and now I know exactly what that means.
However, I feel fully confident in you all at Burton Funeral Home and the professionalism that you showed. I received so many compliments from various people.
I also wanted to accommodate you on your staff. The girls in your office could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Whoever picks your employees could not choose finer people.

Dear Kate –
I just wanted to thank you for everything you did to make our family comfortable from our first meeting all the way through the funeral service.
My mother would have been very happy!
While any death is difficult, an unexpected death is especially hard because there are no good-byes.
It was also a comfort to me that I knew you Kate! You are truly remarkable!
The service was beautiful and it was a fitting end for my husband and his service of 21 years 8 months to our country.

I was hoping as time passed, I would find the right words to give you an appropriate thank you, but the only thing time has done is reinforce that it is okay that I cannot find an adequate way to verbalize my gratitude. Thank you so much for everything you and your staff have done to aide us at this time.

To the Staff of Burton Funeral Homes and Crematory,
I am so thankful for your kindness and care for my companion and friend. He was not just an ordinary pet he was an extraordinary, local, gentle sweet service dog who helped me with balance and support for almost six years. Thank you for helping us have him close by.
